Welcome to Ship-Photo.com

This website, which was formerly known as Ship Images until a couple of years ago, contains pictures of the ships you see on the Solent, from ferries to cruise ships to container ships. The photos range from the 1990s up to the present day and are a mix of digital photos (from early 2005 onwards) and scanned prints. While I've tried to keep the quality as high as possible it does vary and, inevitably, there are what can charitably be called 'record shots' among them, particularly among the older 'photo stories' dedicated to special events.

Most pictures are taken around the Solent area, mostly from the Isle of Wight - Cowes, East Cowes and Ryde/Seaview - but also in Southampton and Portsmouth as well. But not all photos are from the Solent area as I also like travelling, not just for ship photo-taking but also for general holidays and if I am near a port I'll take pics of whatever ships I see, so pictures from the continent and further afield will also appear here.

You can see the photos by placing your mouse over 'Photos' on the menu on left. A sub-menu with the categories will appear and you can choose which you want to see by clicking on it. To close the photo viewer click on or next to it. The site is best viewed in full screen mode so, if you're using Firefox, Internet Explorer and all other modern browsers, press F11 to get the full screen and F11 again when you want to return to your normal configuration.

I am not interested in selling prints or images, but if you see a picture you like and it is for your own private interests, then feel free to right click and help yourself. However, as they are copyright, please don't use them on websites or anywhere else in the public domain without permission and without credit. Please contact me if you'd like to use a picture commercially or on another website.
